Kiwi town with “too many jobs” will not pay you $160,000 to move there

In the south of New Zealand you will find a small town by the name of Kaitangata and if you are currently travelling without a job in the Southern Hemisphere right now, you might want to get your backside down there. Yes, as the title suggests, this small community in New Zealand is launching a new initiative to attract job seekers to the area with enormous financial rewards involved.

Green rolling landscapes intersected by nature at its finest, this beautiful part of New Zealand is home to just 800 residents and the town Mayor along with the local banks has devised a lucrative plan to help you settle in their humble abode. Most jobs are dairy related and there are more than 1,000 job vacancies with an overload of affordable housing to fill.

However, having been inundated with phone-calls, the Mayor of the town has had to announce that they will NOT be offering people large sums of money to relocate and that this was simply some information miscontsrued.

“We have got youth unemployment down to two, Not 2 percent —just two unemployed young people.” says Bryan Cadogan the town Mayor. Housing and land packages are currently reduced to NZ$230,000 ($165,000 U.S) which is a fraction of what similar will cost in the Bay Area.

Regardless of the Chinese whispers, it still sounds like a sweet eal to me !
