Is he still an actor? I guess he can do what he wants and to be fair, his recent elevator stunt was pretty amusing. Anyway, this time Shia LaBeouf is taking a roadtrip and in what is another strange “art form”, they are getting complete strangers to pick him up and take him where they want.
Called #TakeMeAnywhere, the Shia Labeouf roadtrip Shia Labeouf roadtripproject began only few days ago and Shia, along with his two “art friends”, Turner and Rönkkö, have been posting their whereabouts on Twitter at which point people can drive to their coordinates and pick them up.
#TAKEMEANYWHERE and Shia Labeouf roadtrip will last for one month and was commissioned by The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art as part of Media 2016 (as if this part matters in the slightest)
They also had this to say:
The American road trip has long been symbolic of a collective yearning to seek out beauty and truth within a corrupt nation.
As part of MediaLive 2016’s Corruption theme, #TAKEMEANYWHERE asks, can we find such truths within the corrupted networks of society, and preserve something of the utopian naivety of the Internet age?
So far Shia Labeouf roadtrip has concentrated on the Rocky Mountains but really, it could end up anywhere such is the nature of a roadtrip.
It may come across as an unnecessary “art project” but it’s still pretty cool.
